Tree Tops gets to be more fun when you get a feel for the layout of it, where you can get to from various ramps, etc. But yeah, until then, it's probably the most pain in the ass level in the first game, as far as getting everything and avoiding not falling to your death more often than you'd like, at least from what I recall.

Yeah that one was a massive pain in the ass to figure out and is still a massive pain in the ass to reach even when you know what you're doing. Lots of walls and stuff to hit along to way and lose the super charge. And then you still have to beat that one faggot up to the top or the suits of armor will cockblock you.

>hardest level
Not too sure anymore, and I played the SHIT out of all three games as a kid (those were three out of about five games I had for many years because parents didn't like me gaming). Think it might have been Misty Bog or whatever the level with the frogs and carnivorous trees were in the first game. Not because it was hard, but because those fucking trees horrified me, mainly due to the way they were animated.
>Approach tree.
>Eyes open.
>Get closer.
>Tree starts shaking in place.
>Get closer.
>[Shaking Intensifies]
>Get a bit closer still.
>Tree charges at Sanic speed, complete with enormous mouth open wide.
>Eats Spyro, spits him out.
They also get credit for having a special animation if they actually kill Spyro, in which they DON'T spit him back out.

Picked up the Collector's Edition a while back, going to relive my childhood when I get a chance to.

Also, figure you guys might like this. Copeland discussing how he made the music for the games.
