I fucking know what's wrong with this engine and its performance.
It's fucking grid-tile based, but the grid is 3D. Kinda like System Shock 1, or rather tombrader, jus the grid is a bit more dense.
Everything except items are on a grid.
And each piece of a grid is always rendering as a 12-polygon cube at all times, even if they are within a wall.
There are some bugs that allow clipping your head through for a few moments, and then you notice the structure of stuff, in a way very similar to Minecraft, yet somehow worse coded.
This could have literally been made a minecraft mod and it would've run better.
