I have no idea why so many of them are like this. My local game store is especially bad.

The owner treats every customer like they are out to scam him, and says they clean/test all their shit when they clearly don't. Then looks for any reason to deny a return when shit doesn't work.

I brought back a defective Xbox controller once (which was also lightly caked in mud), 15 minutes after purchasing it, receipt in hand, with explanation of troubleshooting steps and what does/doesn't work, and he still seemed hesitant to replace it.
