Gonna dump some Evolution concept art, because it's pretty good.

Evolution: The World of Sacred Device was originally for the Sega Saturn before getting bumped up to the Dreamcast. There ARE a few sources that mention this, but the game was previewed in the Japanese Sega Saturn Magazine, which also had a whole bunch of rare concept art. The game and its sequel also had a series of gag comics run in the magazine for a surprisingly lengthy amount of time (the majority of which were reprinted in the sequel's strategy guide). The sequel's website even has fanart that references a few of those comics.
Speaking of concept art there's artwork of both the female lead (Linear Cannon) and the male lead (Mag Launcher) in kimonos; while Linear's is used in quite a few places, Mag's is seemingly only used in one of the Dreamcast/Saturn magazine scans.

I might've brought up Evolution being on the Saturn in a previous thread (can't remember) but an anon on /v/ translated some of the devdiary on the Japanese site.

>Sting had several concepts for the game following Baroque. They ultimately ended up with the concept of a boy or girl linking their body to a mecha.
>All of the characters were initially younger, but got their ages bumped up. This is part of the reason Mag and Chain look younger than they actually are (16 and 15 respectively)
>Most of the character designs only received minor touchups and no major altercations. A big exception is Mag's Cyframe though; The Airacomet went through many design changes until it eventually arrived at its final "Swiss-Army Knife design".
>The developers liked Chain Gun so much they briefly considered making her the protagonist rather than Mag, but the game was too far into planning to change it.
Also there's some concept art floating around in certain places, like Japanese magazines

>Aqua Planet Proto's theme
Even when totally different, it's still a banger.

Not much is known about the build outside of mockups that were posted and those seem to be similar to the final game, unfortunately.
However, the game does have a devdiary on its official site. Naturally, said site is in Japanese, but a kind anon offered to translate it and has currently finished some of it.

The magazines also had some concept artwork that must have been before development of the game started in earnest because some of the environment designs and the designs for Mag's Cyframe are pretty different (Pannam, the main town, is much bigger, the seaplane had a different design, etc).
Pic related is probably the most drastic, considering the airship and the cyframe apparently replacing Mag's actual hand.

Sting has websites for all of their games still up, as far back as Treasure Hunter G.
http://www.sting.co.jp/game/index.htm
http://www.sting.co.jp/www/THG/THG.html

Also one of their games, Evolution: The World of Sacred Device, started life as a Sega Saturn game. The game was even initially revealed in the Japanese Sega Saturn Magazine (though it appears close to the final game). There's also a DevDiary on the site (in Japanese, of course) and concept art that's wildly different than even the Sega Saturn build.
