That's all the game needs, maybe rebalance some parts like slowing down growth a bit and nerf guns and mechs, buff monsters, add the King of Regions 98 tournament as optional questline and make the maps a bit bigger and maybe add a few extra questlines like meeting different MCs with their parties on their own quests like they did in Scarlet, that was a nice touch.

There's not a lot of stuff you can add to Frontier without needing to change a good part of the game to accomodate that, and outside of the wonky balance I'd rather have it as close to the original as possible.

That's not really true, even Romancing SaGa had Guella Ha, Romancing SaGa 2 has the Iris tribe, molemen and so on and 3 has Yukidaruma, Zo, Yousei and fucking Boston, all of which have their own gimmicks that are unique to them.

Make sure you play them in runes since you can, the localizations have always been pretty terrible, except Frontier 2 which is the one that is actually not that bad aside from changing some names.
Asellus' story is universally liked, she's basically Frontier's postergirl and one of the most popular characters in the whole series, possibly the most popular female character altogether.

Most SaGa characters are pretty normal though, with the exception of Frontier being really over the top and a few oddballs in the series like Boston, Anzan and Platy, most of the rest are pretty normal, although flamboyant character types.

It's strange that you can't get Roufas or Annie to talk to you, are you sure you don't have something like the Tarot quest in progress? that might be the reason, I don't remember Frontier having level flags for those events and characters but I might be wrong of course.
Anyway, you might want to see if you can trigger Tanzer by travelling to another region, if you haven't already of course, and I don't think you actually need Nusakan to get the Rune in the underground cave in Koorong when playing as Asellus.
One other thing, you can do both the Rune and the Tarot quests if you want to but iirc those who were present after you completed one event will have their gift overwritten with the last one.

Never actually tried but I don't think it's possible, iirc Facinaturu's BR for those dungeon segments is fixed, but this is SaGa we're talking about so with some patience and masochism you MIGHT be able to do so, kinda hard with only Asellus and White Rose and no Mystic Weapon.
Did you get the Asura from Gozarus by the way?

Almost finishing my last run of RomaSaGa 2, I've almost got everything in order before the last generation, I'm still a bit nervous even though it's like the seventh time I finish it.

I think I'll do a Last Emperor Skip next, haven't tried doing it yet and I want to see how long I'll last using legit strategies before I'll need to powerlevel or use dirty tricks, if I'll ever manage to win it I'll probably ascend to a higher dimension or something.
