First found DOOM about 20 years ago when I was ~12. I hung out with this dude Pete who was a huge dick but his dad had a shitload of PC games, we used to play it on this big monster PC his dad had in the back of the dining room.

I wanted a copy so bad for my Tandy 1000tx and asked numerous times but he was one of those types of shitty kids that tries to get you to do a bunch of pointless embarassing shit for his amusement before he'd make me a copy.

Told him to fuck off and stopped hangin with him, and found out this IT guy who was dating my friend's mom had a shitload of PC games and would just make copies and photocopy you verification shit from the manuals if you asked nicely and provided diskettes. His name was Michael and was a total bro. Needless to say, from the day after I asked him and handed him a few hi-density 3.5"s I had a copy of doom until the disks wore out from xcopying those motherfuckers so much.

I still play the shit out of doom on a weekly basis, only difference is I use mouse turn now.

Pic related, from when I covered the office on july 5th this year. Runs pretty good on a 120hz projector. Gave me motion sickness like a motherfucker though. I thought Michael was so cool I decided to be an IT guy after I finished high school. If there was ever a job with enough leeway to sneak in some vidya between service calls it's IT work.

I also burn or copy anything my friends' kids want, since I knew how important gaming was and still is to me.

And the cycle continues.
