I actually have been looking for this again

I got several levels in and thought the mouse controls were cool if not unwieldly.

reminded me of if wrath of earth didn't have a terrible UI (pick related, it's the HUD)

its still worth playing though

As much as I like Sam and I'm glad it's stuck around (even got another spinoff this year! Bogus detour!), it is, quite honestly, the beginning of the end, and start of the bad design of FPS you see in "RETRO" fps today, including but not limited to, nu-wolf, nu-doom, nu-shadow warrior, hard reset, serious sam sequels, etc.
