Shorten your exposure and set the CRT as your primary display. Flash could also help you get an better freeze frame rather than ghosting. This is my camera's sport setting, hand blocking the majority of the flash not obscure the screen. First set is with the LCD set as primary and the second set is CRT primary.

What specific models are yours and how are they being fed? Mine are an Asus VH238 being fed over DVI and a Dell e770s over VGA being fed the admittedly somewhat odd XGA+ resolution of 1152x864. Test matches up pretty closely with displaylag's measurement of 11ms

Might try taking my Vizio and seeing how it compares, but disconnecting and and moving it would be a bit of a hassle.
