/vr/ - Retro Games

I played Ninja Gaiden 1 on a old flashcard I had for the dsi, emulated nes and back then, used save states to beat it. This thread is making me want to regain my honor and beat it on a actual nes console the way intended.

The story of the Kingdom Hearts games is legitimately good but the gameplay can be extremely lackluster depending on the title, which gets into non-retro terms.

I don't know just how controversial this is to say but I think the classic Ninja Gaidens is better than the classic Castlevanias. They have a very similar format and game feel but NG is smoother, more exciting, and more rewarding to get good/decent at than the classic Castlevanias. Also the graphic style and art design of NG totally beats out classic Castlevania. I still really like the first 3 Castlevanias but yeah that's my take.
