Show examples. I'm not trolling, it's just that I like The Lion King and never thought this detail was a proper reference for shaders, so I'm quite interested.

>Aladdin has one (1) casual filter level (Cave of Wonders).
Cave of Wonders is pretty alright for the most part, though I agree it's a difficulty spike from what came before it... but the real filter for me on Aladdin is The Escape.

This. Aladdin on Genesis looked just like the film, while The Lion King looked similar to the film, it's a slight, but also crucial difference in how they looked. Also, The Lion King started filtering its players as early as the 2nd level, while Aladdin took a few more levels to get truly hard, so it was a lot more manageable even on its harder difficulty settings compared to The Lion King.

Disney really sucks now, I was a bit hopeful for Wish, but it's absolute garbage yet again... fuck.

Agreed, though I wouldn't blame Virgin entirely, what they came up with when making Aladdin is something we had all dreamed of back then, feel like we're playing the film, because it looked just like it, of course gameplay is still key, but Aladdin specifically still played quite well, it was in latter titles that the standard kept going down, maybe staring with the Lion King, though I enjoyed that.

We really had a few years were Disney titles got handled by both SEGA and Capcom, huh? It feels a bit surreal to be honest, but I'm glad we had it, even if it didn't last as long as it should have last.

>What are some franchises that just stopped suddenly?
Disney's films.
I mean, in the 3rd, 4th and 5th generations we'd get a new Disney animated film and at the same time, or a few years later, we'd get tons of video games for a bunch of consoles, especially all of the Disney renaissance stuff, but nowadays? We get nothing, and it's a shame, I'd love a new Lion King video game, or a Little Mermaid one, they'd often get praised back then, like both versions of Aladdin, for example.
I miss it.
