Well, a few SNES games (pic related and jurassic park) use the 512 pixel mode (pseudo-hires) to create transparency in that way.
This means that the SNES has an effective pixel clock of 10.64Mhz* and the capture device samples in the BT601 format which defines the samplerate at 13.5Mhz and chroma subsampling of 4:2:2 (full vertical and half horizontal color resolution) resulting in a chroma samplerate of 6.75Mhz.
For comparison: My 24" Trinitron TV KV-C2521D made in 1991 uses a TDA4580 which has a bandwidth of 8Mhz for it's primary inputs and 10Mhz for the secondary RGB input which is used for Teletext.

*
PAL subcarrier frequency = 4.43361875Mhz
PAL SNES master clock= (PAL subcarrier*4)*1.2
PAL SNES pixel clock=master clock/2
