Dragon Quest is popular, therefore I must deny it was ever good and influencial. You see, I believe this makes of me someone with somewhat of a refined taste.

Disgust
I liked the monster recruiting except for two things

- monsters have level caps but there is NOTHING that tells you about it so you have to find it the hard way, ie realize monster has been lvl30 for a while when I could have invested the time on somebody else for a while

- some monsters just wouldn't join me no matter how hard I tried. I beat around 150 King Cureslime in the PS2 version and the MOFO never joined. Turned out that basic Cureslime was more than enough to beat the hidden boss though
