/vr/ - Retro Games

As coincidence wills it both retro systems I own are uncommonly colored. One is the white Game Boy, the rarest Play It Loud color of which I still haven't determined whether it was also briefly available in all of Europe or at least the UK or whether it was really a Japan only color, but I bought it on German eBay about ten years ago.

The other one (no photo currently) is a silver PS2 which in itself isn't terribly uncommon (although more so compared to the standard black) but is complemented by two matching silver controllers and a matching silver Multitap vertical stand which seems to be the rarest part of the entire assembly.

I still have this thing lying around but I don't use it because - and I don't know if this has always been the case and I'm simply not used to it anymore or if it has deteriorated over time - the screen contrast is complete garbage.

The original Game Boy was grey. I had one. At some point I trashed it. Years later I bought a white one from the colored Play It Loud series. Apparently the white ones weren't available in some regions. I treasure it. End of story.

This. I'm still waiting for some changing life circumstances before starting my collection.

Also my white Play It Loud Brickboy (nevermind the /v/ greeting, the pic is older than /vr/). But I'm not using that one these days, I just can't deal with the lack of backlighting and the low contrast anymore. Can anyone tell me if this color has actually been JP exclusive or not?

Apparently it's a JP only release which I didn't even know when I bought it used for thirty bucks with a clear box and half a dozen games.
