>Old consoles are going to look like shit on modern displays no matter what because you're blowing up 240-480p output to a 4K display
Not if you use a shader they won't
Screen size is a different thing though

BTW when we'll have 10000+ PPI screens someday 240p will upscale perfectly without any jaggies

Scalers dont use emulation
Are you a mouthbreather or something?

>And if the point you're trying to make is that a flat panel with scanlines/filters can look just as vibrant as a real CRT
Use the Sony Megatron Shader PVM 1910 Shader(350 line PVM) on a >1000 nit 4K LCD Monitor and you'll pretty much get identical results
Motion is still shit without BFI but that's a separate discussion

I can't wait until we get >12000PPI MicroLED and QDEL screens one days
We won't even need shaders at that point
Goodby shitty screendoor effects, goodbye shitty meme blank scanlines

Integer upscaling jaggies are an artifact caused by the resolution not being high enough.
When we get >12000PPI Displays retro games will look perfect without CRT shaders
