OOT 3D is good, don't listen to the anons who post the collage with comparison pics. Yes some lighting is changed and in some ways the original can have more charm, but you can perfectly like both. I liked the new look of the remake, not too different to the original, but more detailed. The gyroscope and the touch menu are godsend QoL additions. Enjoy!

Just use your thumb bro. It's literally one of the QoL additions that make that remake so good (and the gyro aiming).
I still prefer the original, but OOT3D is a damn fine remake and I love it. People cherrypick on its lighting too much too, it can look fantastic.
Real OOT fans like both original and OOT3D.
They fucked up MM3D tho.

I'd vouch for playing the original first. Is it true that the 3DS remake changes some of the original atmosphere, although I think the 3DS still looks great, it doesn't ruin the game and doesn't really make the game look entirely different, it's still pretty faithful, but I always favor original versions first, plus there's nothing inherently wrong with the original game anyway.
However, 3DS has a lot of extra conveniences, mostly regarding the bottom-screen menu, the higher framerate, and IMO the best addition of all: gyro aiming (based Shiggy, people shit on him nowadays but he really does come with good ideas). Also master quest mode and some extras like being able to fight bosses anytime you want, and you get your time records saved.
On thing though, if you're going to play the N64, be sure to play the original version (red blood, moon symbol, monk chants music).

I never played the MM3D remake, but the moment I heard that they changed the way Zora Link swimming works, I lost interest fast. That was my favorite thing in MM. Also, while I never really had any problem with any of the new models and graphics in OOT, I think the moon in MM3D was a step down from the original one. They changed it too much and IMO it doesn't look as good, maybe I'm just nostalgic for the original, but I didn't mind any of the redesigns in OOT3D (although to be fair, OOT3D stuck pretty close to the original, and the new character models were faithful to the original character designs from the promotional art and manual)
