Here is the thing that weirds me out with castlevania. The actual quality of the games stands in no relation with the level of servile devotion of fans and gaming journalists alike. It is every bit a freaky conspiracy, and the pretentious club that OP's cartoon makes it out to be. And this has been going on since the late 80's even. Castlevania games are mediocre at best. All of them.
