I mean if you dont provide the map source we cant add it to the hub or link it with the other maps if we go the linear route, and all one has to do is change the texture and it's gone
I would prefer not to have the player forced to stare at cursed imagery while they play quake anon


you can upload whatever you want on your own though, but I'm not sure what the rules are on quaddicted regarding graphic content

I would imagine that's a private server for personal friends and shit, I recall Term or Kegan saying that it was getting into disuse anyways.

there are open public servers dedicated to specific mods if you just want to find people to play with, like HD

Been playing a bit of SM_189 for quake, and for the most part these maps are really cool, the usage of classic Doom textures is real pretty in places

I do wonder, is flat sprite enemies possible on Quake, would be interesting to see classic Doom enemies just thrown into the mix

I know Aleph one is not super accurate, but Marathon really feels...weird, it feels floaty and jittery, on top of that it feels claustrophobic like someone set the FOV wrong.

One funny thing I noticed is that deleting config.cfg and just starting with an autoexec.cfg from scratch, fullscreen and 1080p resolution won't be applied even if they are in autoexec.cfg. Had to launch Quakespasm passing the -f -width 1920 -height 1080 flags for it to register in config.cfg on first run. After that, running it normally without the flags works

Most other long-term generals on this site that aren't explicit porn dumps (maybe) have that in absolute spades, and going off experience this general is much better off by comparison. Granted it's isn't the same as it was when players actively played Doom together, and some bits like complaining about Graf Zahl absolutely do get loud on top of the usual off-site reject who has nowhere else to go and starts up shit.
