Because of translation issues M.Bison, Vega, and Balrog all have different names between the US and Japanese version, for example in the US version the character named Balrog is named M.Bison in the Japanese version. Because of this the character are instead refered to as their basic trait(Vega-claw, M.Bison-dictator, Balrog-boxer) so that confusion as to who is being refered to is avoided.
