I like how the artist even kept Billy and Jimmy Lee's original arcade colors instead of the switched style they went with the console games. Most of the promotional art for the series in Japan made Billy Lee look like a poor man's Kenshiro and I never cared much for the Karate Kid headbands they wore for most of the western art.

The Game Boy version of Double Dragon in Japan used the same artist and this is the artwork she came up with.

>Also, how in the fuck are "Double Dragon (NES)" and "Double Dragon (Game Boy)" in separate tiers? They're (almost) the same game! If anything the GB version might (arguably) be (very) slightly better.
Hardly. DD1GB is indeed based on DD1NES, but they have too many differences to be a straight port.

>Moves are all available from the start, no leveling required. Jump kicks are a bit more floaty on GB.
>Level designs are completely different. I.E. Mission 2 on NES is pretty straightforward romp, whereas the same stage on the GB has many platform jumping segments. There are traps that were from DD2NES like air-sucking trap doors and disappearing floors.
>Some of the enemies have new abilities like Linda's baseball bat, Abobo's grab attack and Chin's rolling kick. Some of the weapons also work a bit differently like the grenades and the throwing sword.
>Checkpoints are much stricter on the GB, only taking you to the beginning of your current area.
>No Billy vs. Jimmy fight at the end. You're reunited with Marian after beating Machinegun Willy.

My point is that I prefer the original unmodified artwork from the AC flyer. The version is used for the NES poster is way too cluttered for my taste. They made Marian's skirt longer because of >think of the children and obscured the bottom portion of the artwork, leaving out most of Jimmy and the two bad guys around him.

>tfw no Double Dragon manga by Kakizaki Kazumi.

Double Dragon I and II were on the Game Boy, as well as a few Kunio games.

It's like the NES version, but without the bullshit level grinding.
