>PVMs and BVMs were literal professsional-grade monitors and cost tens of thousands when new.

Yes, but they were not designed for 240p content, which leads to obscene scanline counts, which destroys the actual sprite and backgrounds, which for some reason people love...as if viewing a world through shutters is superior.

>Has the M68LNH050X, which is the 500 TVL flat version of their PVM grade tubes making them shine for 240p content.
>Same phosphor mask as a PVM
>Has a HVR, typically only found in PVM's, which allow a solid calibration for D65 and gamma curve...again typically you will only find this kind of shit on monitors meant for medical use.
>Its hefty starting price tag of $2500 for the 27" ($4000 inflation adjusted) was targeted at "Pro-sumers", home theater magazines slammed it for that, but otherwise considered it the champ for home theater enthusiasts.
>Factory sub and WEGA sound patent made it a sleeper in the factory audio department.
>HD content started rolling out in 2005 so 480i sets like the FV310 were killed off early, making them rare as fuck unicorns
