At least this one is actually has models dressed as the characters from the game. Although,it's weird how the JP flyer art has the Mark Hamill-looking Player 3 guy who was only in the American version, along with the melee weapons for the other two guys instead of the guns they actually wield in the JP revision.

Kojima had nothing to do with the MG1 boxart, moron. That was some in-house artist in Konami's marketing division that did traceovers of movie posters.

Player 3/Luke Skywalker doesn't even show up in the Japanese version.

I always had a soft spot for Devil World. No, not the early NES maze game that Nintendo refused to localized in order to avoid offending Christians, but a Gauntlet-clone by Konami that starred an Indiana Jones knockoff and a hot reporter. It's not a masterpiece, but I like the aesthetic and style of Konami's arcade games from that era.

The U.S version, Dark Adventure (which may had been the original version), has 3P co-op and a less linear design, but it's broken as hell. Your life gets drained much faster and the player characters wield melee weapons instead of guns. It's pretty much a mindless quarter muncher compared to the JP and World versions of the game.

This was common among Konami's boxart of the era, like that one arcade flyer art where the artist ripped off poster for Return of the Jedi.

That's not even counting the NES boxart for Contra that was done by a European guy who traced over a couple of publicity stills from Predator.
