wen dis happened, it can't be understated how huge Sony had became and how much mindshare PS1 captured. Dreamcast was out and yes it was cool, but everyone who bought an N64 or saturn in the last gen had PTSD and sure weren't willing to get burned again. Everyone was just waiting for PS2 to drop instead of buying the Dreamcast as it was considered a foregone conclusion that Sony would dominate again like they had with the PSX
