Get a 1040ST

I had the standard ST and a STFM, which you could plug into CRT TVs.

But if you're gonna use 16 bit atari computers, you might as well use the proper monitor

Get one of these (SC1224). Low resolution aside, it's the best monitor I ever saw.

25 years later I STILL have to see a monitor with better color fidelity. OLED screens are getting there I think. But they're still too small.

Hey /vr/ ,

I’ve seen a lot of threads on /vr/ about CRT monitors for gaming or what monitors people use for retro gaming and so on. I’ve got an Atari ST monitor in my closet which belongs to my father and I’m wondering if I could hook up my Sega MegaDrive, Super Nintendo, you know any of my consoles to this monitor for gaming. It’s a great monitor and I would love to play games on it, they would look lovely on the Atari ST monitor.

I’m quite new to this whole thing of learning about monitors and what-not but I’m sure you guys could help me out :)

The Atari ST had the best color monitor I ever used. To this day, even counting LED, 3D panels and whatever you want, nothing has those colors. That deep black and its fire red. Barbarian's green fields and snakes. So amazing.

Everything looked amazing.

Actually, AMOLED (Samsung) and OLED (vita) screens look just as good, but fuck... how long did that take?

27 years?

I had this fucker here. No idea who other ST monitors looked. Did anybody else notice it? Does anybody know why?

I've tried looking up it was so amazing, but google gives me nothing. Maybe nobody cares, but as a designer I've been looking forward ever since for a monitor as awesome as that one.
