I'm still here, I just don't advocate making your own cables unless someone specifically asks for the best possible connection. Here's the last one I made, a n64 s-video cable. OTS cables can't compete

I feel partially responsible for anti-scart as I discussed broadcast coax, bnc, signal reflection and impendence matching when I was building a RGBS cable for a SNES.

Belden coax and locking bnc is still the industry standard for a reason.

poor grounding on the audio channel or a loose pin, could be the cable, whatever breakout you're using or a poor connection in the monitor/tv input if you live in scart land. I would ohm the pins in the cable and check for an open circuit or abnormal resistance value.

People give me shit for being an autist but DIY is the way to go. hand made and bench tested before it ever gets finish assembly so you know it's perfect.

Y/C cable hacked out of an old SVHS cord, grounded to both pins in the multi out, heat shrink is bonded to the connector for strength. Total cost $7

it looks better in person I'm using an old point and shoot that doesn't like displays. I am interested though. I couldn't find a service manual for my exact set but a similar 35" console on manulslib. I might give it a go.

it's on the left on playstation which has an old cheapass interact cable. The Snes has a nice diy cable grounded to both pins. could it be in the connection to the pcb in the tv or traces too close together? I guess I'll try some new cables, I can always sell what I don't need or have backups

Could you not use a 75ohm resistors between the pcb and the a/v out?

diy cables? made 2 of these out of some cheap a/v cables and an old high end svhs cable we had.

nobody makes a direct to bnc rgbs cable, and pre made aren't as nice as what you can whip up on a bench for a few bucks.
