See, the fun part about Hideous Destructor is that it makes the effort to have the monsters all be real fucking cunts to deal with.
The idea is to have monsters which could realistically destroy a squad of soldiers, compare to the original game, where the monsters are mostly kind of dumb and can only do a few things each, and some of them are pretty slow.

The reward is to defeat very rough odds, and an important part about HD is that to enjoy it, you should throw basically all the rules out the window, forget about playing fair or staying in map sequence, your goal is to survive and make it to the exit, by any means necessary.
The sooner you realize there are no rules, the sooner you can succeed.
Do you go through that monster gauntlet which surely awaits behind that door, to go around and get that key up on that ledge, or do you just climb up the ledge (perhaps with a ladder), grab the key, and skip that combat?
Do you play through the entire map, or do you crawl through a low window and skip half of it?
Do you make the effort to fight an arch-vile until he dies, or do you just fight him off and hope you can keep him away until you reach the exit? There's rewards and consequences to both choices.

There's one *IF*, however; some maps are not even remotely easy, or even feasible, to play, that's something to assess; is this a level which I could realistically face, without obscene trial of error, or even at all? Most people will not have the patience for playing it with Alien Vendetta, for instance, some of the levels are particularly cruel to the player in Hideous Destructor.
It's a very acquired taste of gameplay, but for certain types of people it appeals to, it's very good.

Hideous Destructor is harder than Brutul can ever hope to be, we've been over this, Corporal Carlos is just a salty bitch like always.

Does anyone have any more recent .webms of Hideous Destructor? This one I think is a bit dated.

That's what I like about it. It's really the only mod where it feels like the enemies are truly on the same level as you. Also all that sweet technology that blows away any other mod out there.
