Apparently some of the greatest innovators in the history of videogames

People forget that when the original PS1 controller was released it was basically a SNES controller with an extra shoulder button on each side

It took Nintendo's revolutionary controller to bring Analogue controls into the mainstream, oh sure someone had done them before, but Nintendo committed to them and since then every single major home console released has had Analogue controls, that's how game-changing they were.

Even sony liked their design so much they put their analogues in the middle, though closer to the d-pad so you didn't have to change your hand position.

Let's not forget the N64 also popularized the rumble feature

And they popularized the cross gamepad.
