I started off collecting games that had sentimental value to me. That's all I do. I collect games I want, because games are meant to be played. There's no point in owning something you will never touch at any point. Pay attention to trends, pay attention to patterns, games often fluctuate in price, and there's always ways to find things elsewhere. At thrift stores, at garage sales, knowing someone online who will sell for cheap. I personally will never give a shit or understand the importance people place into owning mounds and mounds of games. Develop a meaningful personal relationship with your games, or even everything you own. If you own a massive shelf full of games and can't tell me a single thing about one I might happen to pick at random, you are frankly a massive superficial faggot and part of the problem when people bitch about scalpers and collectors.

Played both the original 64 on a friend's Wii Virtual Console, and my own 64DS copy when I was a child, good times. Have there been any romhacks/PC port mods that backport the extra DS levels like the poison tree and that cage multiplayer area?

absolutely based. Land 2 is the best 2D Mario game by far, I especially love the DX romhack someone made recently where you can play as Luigi, too.

I like it. Captures a lot about what I liked about that era. There's a special place in my heart for old pre-renders, especially Donkey Kong Country. Something about the lighting, shading, weird to think art doesn't look like this anymore.
