Is the FDS stick the best way to play FDS games on an actual Famicom? I couldn't find a good answer for it, does it support regular Famicom ROMs like a full fledged flash cart or only FDS?

Question about FDSStick

I have just gotten one, and it doesn't load games properly. If I try off of the flash memory, it gives back Battery Err 02, and if I try via PC loading, it goes to Now Loading but never finishes loading, and the progress bar on the PC just keeps on filling up, going to empty, and repeating until I end the process.

In videos I've seen, the menu appears almost immediately, and files get loaded very quickly and without incident, so I'm sure there must be something wrong for me. Can anyone offer assistance with this matter? Thanks all.
