Used Game Gear for $49 at Hollywood Video. This is when they were back still in the $150+ range for a new one.

My mom wouldn't let me get it because it didn't have the battery compartment cases on the back. I realize she was just looking out for me and didn't want me to regret making a stupid purchase.
I later got a GameGear in-box (though much much later) with the battery compartments, and never saw them again after attaching the Pelican battery packs to the back.
