Haven't played this game and I'm wondering what's the best way to play it?

There's the version for the DS, which has new features.

And there's the PS1 version, which has new animated scenes in between game play.

Which route should I go?

I've got a copy of Chrono Trigger, complete with box, manual, posters and even the random stuff the game came with. Great condition for the most part. I'm hoping to sell it. I've seen prices all over the chart for Chrono Trigger CiB but I figured I'd try to start at around 200 dollars. If anyone is interested, leave an email address here and we can negotiate. I'll also provide images of everything then.

And they don't know it initially, they're just from a strong line of magic users and that guy in the End of Time did an Elder Kai on their ass and awoken their inherent abilities.

Magic was something lost after Zeal, but humans couldn't use it at all until after Lavos was on the scene and slowly evolved them.

Why Alia can't use it.

This is pretty self explanatory. Visually appealing and varying scenes as to not get boring. This includes suitable music. I have never ever met someone who enjoys the god damned sewer level in any game.

For me, if an action-RPG can do all 3 of these things well it will prove to be an immersive and enjoyable experience.

Tell me what YOU think separates the good from the great.

On a side note I can't stand any Final Fantasy games as they all fail on the second point, but please don't fill this thread with shit posting about how wrong I am. I'm not saying they are bad. They just don't do it for me.
