To elaborate on my post:
These are the emulators I use on a New3DS (but they have almost the same performance on an Old 3DS).
For NES, SNES, Sega Genesis and SMS and TGfx16 (and PCE CD) I use bubble2k16's emulators. They're good, simple, fast and some like the last two emulate more than one machine (with the minimal fiddling, temperPCE runs also CD games at full speed). You can also speed them up at the press of a button and it's waaaay faster than anything you could speed up in Vita.

For Gameboy and GBC, Wonderswan and Neo Geo Pocket I use the Retroarch cores with are also super good.

As for Vita, I use TempGBA on Adrenaline which is pretty much flawless and RA for everything else.
I'm considering using s9xTYLcm now seeing how stable the slower games are but I still like the 3ds' results more.

Also, VC shouldn't be an option. AT ALL. Except for GBA.
