>Of all the ways to make a re-animated corpse, just sticking a tall dude in a coat and calling it a day is pretty lazy.
Creature FX and makeup weren't that advanced back then, and the shit they had was still difficult.

If you wanted to do certain colors of makeup, there were only so many ways to do some of them, and they could be poisonous or even flammable. Tin Man in Wizard Of Oz got sick from his makeup, and they had to replace him, while Wicked Witch Of The West's makeup caught fire when an effect went wrong.
Boris Karloff wanted the tone on Frankenstein's monster to look just right, even if it was a black and white film, so he insisted on going with the green makeup anyway (which was poisonous), doing it the hard way, also shedding lots of weight. He was proud of that.

>I assume it had to do with video quality back in the day and it being just black and white, you couldn't go too crazy with details.
Probably a factor, however.

I recall someone once made some sprites based on the Tarman from Return Of The Living Dead, does anyone happen to have that sheet?
