But the enemy isn't fighting with honor, chivalrous anon. The game logic itself works by randomly deciding whether the enemy blocks or doesn't block after reading your input; so the enemy is technically either cheating, or ALLOWING you to win.

Actually I'm only guessing, but the "dueling" system should work like this:
>There's 3 basic attacks: high, low, and downward thrust.
>There's a certain base probability of landing a blow. It should actually be pretty small, probably below 1 chance in 5. It might vary with the enemy.
>Each time you use the same attack, that probability DECREASES (regardless of whether you did hit or not).
>Each time you change to a different attack, the probability INCREASES, with the base probability as a maximum.
>The probability may also reset or increase over time if you stop attacking.

That's my take on it, but I assume somebody has actually checked how it works directly. Any info on that? I'm curious.
It probably gets different and more sophisticated with the final boss too, as he can't attack and defend at different levels like the Iron Knuckles.

Is there an objective difference between a challenge and an annoyance?
