Yes, and I think that stage is difficult overall, now I can beat it in one go, but the first couple times I played the game back then, that stage brutally annihilated me. The flying eyeballs that go in unpredictable patterns, the bonepillars firing at you, that one bone pillar that's on the edge of another platform that has an insta-kill spiked trap in between, if you don't have the cross subweapon, getting across that part can be hard. You can actually reach the bonepillar if you try to stand at the very end of the edge of the platform, but you will have to go back and forth because of the spike trap.
As for the disappearing blocks at the end, they are semi random. The way they appear in order is random, but you can wait until the ones on the furthest side disappear and other blocks appear near you, then you can start walking over them, and I think surely there will be other blocks spawning on the other side. I don't die there on that spot anymore now that I know this, but yeah that part was also like the last bit of sadism thrown in that level, and it caused me many deaths and game overs at first.
