Op didnt specify it had to be a home console! The Color of an NES with a library about twice the size that fits in your pocket!

Hey /vr/, i'm not a frequent visitor of any of the video games boards, so bear with me if this is not the right place to ask.

I recently found my old gameboy color in a box, with some of my games, and felt this "oh boy videogames" for the first time in a long time.

After hours of experimentation, I can't find any position to play it inside my house that gives enough lightning to see. Can only play it under some sunlight.

Could it be related to compact fluorescent lamps replacing incandescent lightbulbs, or i'm just saying nonsense?

Lime Green.

There's just something about it that... works.

I have a second Gameboy Color that I recently picked up for very cheap, and I love playing it. I want to add a few mods though, such as a better d-pad, some sort of light source, and so-on, but I don't want to just trash a perfectly good system. Worth modding, or should I just try to find a shitty broken one and mod that one?

Yo, is it just me, or does the Gameboy Color have a brighter screen than the Gameboy Advance? Everyone bitches about how the original GBA had a dark screen that you couldn't see shit with, but no one seems to complain much about the GBC.

I got myself a Gameboy Color today, and did a comparison with my GBA SP1, which has the frontlight you can turn off, which I assume makes it just like a regular GBA. Sure enough, the Color's screen seems to reflect light much more than the SP with the light turned off.

What is up with that? You'd think Nintendo would make sure the newer handheld would have a better screen that reflects just as much light as the earlier model.
