picked up a 14" VGA monitor for free recently. it's digital brand and has the same chassis as pic related. VGA and RGBHV BNC inputs. trinitron tube, 80kHz horizontal and 75Hz vertical, 1280x1024 resolution. the convergence is kinda fucked around the edges (might mess around with the innards later) but the geometry's good. don't know the hours. I'm using an hdmi to vga converter right now for my pc and I have a few questions: first, would a displayport to vga converter be faster or have any other benefits? second, is there a way to display other inputs (composite, s-video, component) on this screen without (significant) input lag? I know i could rgb mod my consoles but I'd rather not. I don't really like the look of noticable scanlines so a line doubler that can handle 480p to 960p somewhere in the signal chain would be appreciated if such a device exists. Basically, I need a way to get from not RGB to RGB without incurring too much lag. Suggestions?

The monitor on the lower left seems to be an SGI monitor. But I'm not sure about the middle.
