Played all three on PC hardware. Had The Ultimate DOOM and DOOM II on CD (and Heretic too). Some of my favorite games, and I'm still playing today. Unreal was a lot of fun, great graphics, seemly smart AI for the time, and unique guns. Half-Half was something of an experience, nothing else was like it at the time (and everything since has aped it). The multiplayer scene was good fun as well, although my favorite Team Fortress is still Quake TF or MegaTF.

Team Fortress thread

Team Fortress is one of the biggest franchises of all time, and yet for some reason it always seems to be a footnote in gaming history, with most people only really acknowledging Team Fortress 2.
It's near impossible to find any real history on the entire team fortress series. Maybe it's because of the disconnect between the original game and TF2, but it seems like beyond the core fans of the original mod, Team Fortress has been lost to time.
Why has this franchise flown under the radar in gaming history for the last 22 years while counter strike is mercilessly felated for how it revolutionised the genre?
