This sort of map drawing isn't even fun. In FEZ it can be fun to take notes, analyze your surroundings, and even occasionally make a mini little map of something. Not because you ever get lost, but because you're trying to solve some environmental puzzle. Metroid 1 is not like that, drawing a map for it is a boring chore and a crutch for its terrible, repetitive, indistinct environments.
