Ive run alot of GNU stuff on windows.
Leave OpenGL as some primitive backend to the game so that it works on other operating systems. Like the equivalent of software rendering.

You have to understand OpenGL was designed as a rendering environment for modelling programs in Sun Workstations. It doesn't belong on PCs. You're using the wrong tool for the job.
