Games do age somewhat. What is a innovation in one year is obsolete in another.
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior has 8 playable characters. At the time, this was a massive amount for a fighting game. Nowadays if you tried to sell a fighting game with that small a cast, it would be absolutely pathetic.
There are people like us who can appreciate World Warrior in the context of its era and how innovative it was for its time. Most people just want to play a good fighting game, and that's understandable. Those people don't want to play World Warrior, and that's why it's fair to say that it's aged.
