I have a mountain of Famicom games and am yet to get a working system. I live in Australia and therefore cant really use an RF system, so I am sort of stuck with an AV system. I bought an AV moded Famicom and an FC Compact (whilst in Japan), neither have worked on return, and I think its my own fault. I used an AC adapter (works with my super famicom) and have got nothing. Whats my best bet to play my famicom games in Australia? Any ideas for the systems I have or what to buy?

I want to buy my boyfriend an A/V Famicom. What's a reasonable price for one?

Just won an A/V Famicom off of eBay. Been looking at them for awhile now. Very excited.

Anyways, the auction I won doesn't come with a power supply though. I've been using google and found out that the Genesis Model 1 is a suitable substitute. Is this true? Any suggestions? Will this ruin my Famicom over time?

I trust the community here and am really just wondering if anyone has experience with the A/V Fami or Japanese consoles in general. Thanks!

I would recommend getting an AV Famicom+NES converter. You can use normal NES controllers on these, plus they support composite unlike the NES toploader.

The Famicom version of that system is fittingly called the AV Famicom(The original FC didn't have AV outputs)

If you get yourself a 72-60pin adapter, you could use this for all games, plus it's superior to the US Toploader.
