I can't see that happening, but I suppose it's hypothetically possible. Especially unlikely for professional equipment, I would think.
Why are you looking for a model that supports ONLY PAL? Even if you don't plan to use others, having them available to you isn't going to hurt anything.

My M2MDU is fine displaying both 480i60 and 576i50 over component, for what it's worth. The latter is quite flickery for someone used to NTSC, but still.
