you'll notice i did defend your right to having your taste. my problem isn't even cherry picking for making that opinion.

But when its used to justify (and this mess is all over /co/ right now) making really unfounded narrative or character changes is when it falls apart. If you don't like the original constituent elements, fine. If you don't like it and then use it as justification to make Other M, thats where the fanbase goes "WTF happened?" I don't really get bitching about there being a ZSS. Its not my cup of tea, but its not like it makes no sense. A skinsuit with armor plates is what a motorcycle suit is. ANd you wear a wet suit under a deep dive suit; you're not naked in that shit. And you have the equivalent of a skinsuit in astronaut suits too.
