Hideous Destructor is one of the options, turning Doom into a tacticool FPS. It makes Doom about as realistic and methodical as possible while also still actually having all the wild supernatural and sci-fi stuff, while still letting you go guns blazing if you've got the balls to do it/if you're suitably equipped.
Weapons and inventory are managed with an optional/adjustable weight/bulk system, where magazines need to be loaded with cartridges. Wounds involve bleeding as well as crippling injuries, sci-fi medical science can do a lot but if you're completely fucked up, the only recourse available is if you can find some sort of magical source of healing.

Enemies involve zombies with guns, traitor marines with guns, as well as the classic rogue's gallery of demonic horrors, all revamped to fit the gameplay. Being upgraded to behave and attack in smarter and more insidious ways, with the idea being to make them realistically dangerous and vicious, with all kinds of mean tricks up their proverbial sleeves.

Of course, the player has his own mean tricks. Hand grenades which can be thrown or set up with trip wires, automated sentry guns, little floor drones with pistols (which can be remote controlled manually or set to patrol), High Explosive Anti Tank rockets which can not just annihilate a boss with a square shot, but eliminate a locked door or barrier. Rope ladders, jetpacks, remote explosive charges, and whatever magic you can acquire, good or bad.

All of this with Doom's level design, or whatever Doom level set you think would fit.
