what would change if sony had released the analog controller when the system first came out? would things like tank controls still exist?

Would it be possible to romhack PS1 games so that they make use of the second analog stuck for camera controls? I think it would improve these older games a lot. A button just for camera controls and aiming has become the standard.

I'd probably guess the interface, a lot of people use USB controllers since they already own them and they just have to plug it in. I really should get an adapter, the gamecube controller is really good.

Best controller for PS1 emulation is obviously the best PS1 controller.

Not only is it the best PS1 controller but the PS4 controller takes the longer legs and divot sticks from it.
