>some people really just don't think it's worth it to put their old video games out.

That's actually what the guy said. He didn't think anyone would want this stuff so he didn't put it out. Coincidentally, on my very first trip retro hunting, I met another lady who said the same thing to me as she brought out a box full of pic related. She sold it for $20 because she also didn't know if it worked (which it does and is the one I play on now. Maybe it's just a trend where I live. I dunno).

But anyway, the lesson to be learned here: Don't be afraid to ask for video games. Worst thing that can happen is they say no. That or they have do some, but they're priced ridiculously high or they're not games you want. Just remain calm and collected. Show them you are interested but don't act over anxious either and don't be afraid to just walk away if the deal isn't what you are looking for.

Another tip I found to be useful is to just bring a game with you. It's a great talking point and gives the person an example of the kind of games you are interested in buying (who may not know too much about retro games or doesn't understand what type they are. I asked for Nintendo games once and they brought out Wii games. I polity declined, and went on to the next sale.)

Keep thinking that way. It leaves more stuff for those of us who look for it.

Found all of this for $20 a few months back. I've had more great finds since then too.

Bought all of this last weekend for $28. It was my first time searching yard sales for retro games in a very long time. Definitely going to start looking more often.

Well, this was totally unexpected for being my first attempt at yard sales. I bought all of this for $28 total, and everything works.

I bought the system and 18 games from one house alone for $20. The lady who sold them wasn't even going to put them out since she didn't know if it worked or if anyone would even want them. Lucky I asked.

I've quickly learned a good tip as well. Bring a cart (or a picture of one) with you when you are asking for games. There's nothing easier than just showing someone what you are looking for than trying to describe it.
