Most likely. Take a look at Princess Sarah and Garland's overworld sprites. Garland did the whole "open helmet in overworld, closed helmet in battle" thing before Dark Knight Cecil, yet his face is still unseen like it was in the remakes. Princess Sarah is back to having pink instead of green hair like the NES version, but now has the yellow dress she has in more recent spinoffs. Part of the goal of the Pixel Remasters will be to re-establish a unified look for the older games instead of the current modernization mess, and while the classic sprites will be the main reference, it'll also look to other interpretations.
