/vr/ - Retro Games

I'm a myst fan and I don't like any myst before the win 2000 version. That being said it's identical to the apple version. It's very simple CD-Rom game, there's nothing good or bad to the console versions imo.

I'm glad Myst IV: Revelation is retro now so we can talk about that, such a great game, I should make a thread. Riven and Myst are so weak compared to Exile, Revelation, and EoA

I got the cover like OP. It was the one that came with the demo. It was a 2 disc box. I sold it out of frustration about 1 month after I got it back in like 98. Still have the servbot toy, which I pointed to up above. I have ALL the gachapon Dash characters, and they're so cool. Too bad I can't find them in time to post here, maybe later.

You can't really see it as being good anymore. Since shit like Eva, Yamato remake, and Gurren Lagann and some other movies/anime came out it kinda beat the themes to Xenogears to death.

I really thought the game was cool 20+ years ago, but going back to it now it's 100% nostalgia. I don't think you're going to be able to be WOWED by anything in it now a days. You either like to play it or you don't.

It it was cool in the 90s and that gen liked it, and you want it, publishers only care about gatcha so force the devs to make them. However the public already has the gatcha they want, the money isn't in them anymore. You know Japanese corporate masters are renowned to being dinosaurs who can't see current events and are stuck on the last big thing, like how when fortnite was big they still though spinners were in.
