Daggerfall isn't terrible and it's very close to Arena, to the point of being essentially Arena but better. Also arena didn't have the skill-based levelling system.

One truly unique thing about arena was the spell that let you destroy walls. It was pretty amazing and obviously not doable any more with modern games. Funny how that works - since Arena was still grid based you could do shit like that.

You could enter the void in Daggerfall, but that wasn't a features :)

Why the fuck would that matter? It's not like steam where you rent the game and hence have to trust valve. The games are DRM free - once you buy them you don't have to trust anyone. They are yours. Can your valve-warped mind comprehend this? There's no trust involved on your side. In fact they TRUST YOU (unlike valve who think you're scum).
