Desu, I was born in 1980 (not the dumbass you're talking to though) and vaporwave is damn great. It's not for everyone, but no need to dismiss an entire musical genre over some larping zoomer.

It's mainly ambient music, nice to have as background music. The echo and reverb reminds you of malls/kmart/arcades when you were a kid when the mall music echoed off of the hard floor surface. Similarly a skating rink sound would bring back memories in many of this age group.

It's not vaporwave, but look up some of the Kmart reel to reel tapes on youtube if you want a huge nostalgia hit.

Mismatched lamp/odd wall paint/rug/seating/lighting. "Pawn shop Chic" shelving full of rotting plastic in back. Random shit thrown on top of shelf with no cohesion or sense of display, just literal piles of random. Literal cheap white and chrome shelving they use in the back room "pawn area" of pawn shops for holding consoles. No retro consoles actually hooked up or in danger of being played.

Small focused collection, somewhat interesting mini display "pockets". Only retro hooked up appears to be N64. N64 on modern display is a bit sad. PRETTYGOOD/10. Kind of a neat room and comfy feeling, just not much actual retro going on.

Fucking comfy, even with "strategically placed cat". Nice flooring. Aesthetic skyline of city living, yet still connected with nature via plants. Nice representation of retro games. Nice CRTs. Nice Arcade stick. Minor gripe is that speakers would look nicer up off the floor. Would also look cool with a map or something understated on the wall above the tv. COMFY/10.
